I have had a lifelong affinity for fashion, dating back to the time I was seven years old, when I first began sketching clothing designs and selling to local boutiques.
Post-graduation, I worked in the field of advertising, while pursuing fashion as a hobby on the side. In the pursuit of changing my hobby to a full-time profession, I began working with Polyvore.com’s platform, generating editorial-focused fashion content. Having caught the attention of Polyvore’s leadership team, I was chosen to be their New York Fashion Week correspondent over multiple seasons, and also to represent the company as a speaker at the Alt Summit in Salt Lake City, Utah.
These experiences and opportunities allowed me to successfully found my company, Dressed to Skill. I worked one-on-one with clients locally and internationally, consulting on wardrobe edits, image enhancing, and personal styling.
I was hungry for more though, so I made my way into the world of hyper-growth startups in early 2013. Being one of the key contributors toward the development of a company revolutionizing the personal styling industry through e-commerce, I donned multiple hats and developed my skillset, gradually moving up to senior management roles with primary focus on sales, market expansion, and business development. The sweet spot was realizing I could combine fashion with analytics and data-driven insights.
The exhilaration of building a team and leading it to success is unbeatably satisfying; and I haven’t looked back since.
